Chiropractic Management of Pregnant, Postpartum and Pediatric Patients
The purpose of this MPI Masters Series lecture and hands-on workshop is to provide clinical insight into treating pregnant, postpartum, and pediatric patients as a chiropractor. It will provide attendees with a basic understanding of contraindications to care, management of common conditions, adjustive techniques, rehab exercises for pregnancy and postpartum, and nutritional recommendations for these special populations.

It is recommended that participants have prior introduction to Motion Palpation (MPI) technique for palpation of the pelvis, lumbar, and thoracic spine as well as MPI sideline kick-pull and sideline drop adjustments. This course will focus on the application and modification of Motion Palpation techniques to the pregnant and pediatric populations. Examples of previous experience include having previously attended an MPI seminar, consistent attendance at Motion Palpation club for at least 1 semester/trimester, or having been taught Motion Palpation techniques through institutional study (i.e. NUHS). If you have any questions as to whether or not you qualify, please send a brief summary of experience to [email protected] for approval.

By the end of the program, the attendee will be able to:

  • understand common complaints and conditions of pregnant and pediatric patients
  • identify red flags, contraindications for treatment and reasons for referring pregnant and pediatric patients
  • address common pediatric ailments with conservative integrative care
  • incorporate modifications to adjustments and rehabilitation exercises to accommodate pregnant, post-partum
    and pediatric patients
  • understand the basic nutritional recommendations for pregnant and pediatric patients
  • appreciate the role chiropractors can play in the collaborative management of pregnant, post-partum and
    pediatric patients

Casual and comfortable.

Please bring a portable table and a speeder (toggle) board to the program (if available)
Please bring a doll with you to the program (it is recommended that it is not much smaller than 18-19”)

MPI will provide coffee, tea and water during the event.
